SoHo, Manhattan

SoHo is known for its greatest collection of cast-iron architecture. Many of these industrial and commercial facades standing in New York were constructed around the nineteenth century, when cast iron was relatively economical than any other materials.

In the neighbourhood of these historical buildings, every step I walked amazes me. The merge of the ancient facades and the contemporary art galleries and boutiques are seamlessly blended, adding a twist of new in the old. This feature of SoHo resembles several places in Hong Kong on the contradictory level. Every cast iron building is an art piece itself, creating an ambience of a live gallery.
